Dr. Burke's Ground-Breaking Study on IGF-1

The latest issue of the prestigious International Journal of Sports Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism contains a recent publication by RIVALUS CEO, Dr. Darren Burke and Scientific Colleagues Dr. Darren Candow, Dr. Mark Tarnopolsky and Dr. Tim Ziegenfuss.

"This is first study to demonstrate significant increases in muscle tissue IGF-1 expression from creatine supplementation and heavy resistance training" -Dr. Burke.

IGF-1 is a powerful anabolic growth factor and when expressed in muscle cells causes an increase in muscle size and strength. There are a number of metabolic signals needed to trigger a big enough expression of muscle IGF-1 to cause an increase in muscle size and strength. Dr. Burke and his team were the first to create the right "ingredients" necessary to trigger this response. The creatine supplement used and the exercise program that subjects followed resulted in significant increases in muscle size, muscle strength and a reduction in body fat.

Stay-tuned for more of Dr. Burke's ground-breaking research. He recently completed a book chapter on Building Muscle with Resistance Training that we will be making available very soon.
